That's right! I ain't dead, just too lazy to update this thing....
Well, I've just finished watching the leaders debate for the upcoming election. I'm still unwaiveringly behind the Conservatives and in a perfect world many in the Liberal government would be locked away for eternity (although under the Liberal watch the justice system has deteriorated to the point that they would only get two weeks at "club fed").
What really confuses me is the Bloq Quebecois. No, confuses is the wrong word. Enrages is more apt.
Gilles Duceppe spent most of the second half of the debate yammering about how Quebec should seperate from Canada. Haven't they already tried this? More than once??? You'd think that they would be able to take the hint. Or maybe it's just the radical few that wish for seperation and they are the only ones with the ambition to run for office and whatever it takes to get in the position to think that you know what everyone wants. Everyone else is just too lazy to do anything until the last moment and with the least amount of effort to stop it, i.e. voting.
I say that if anything, Quebec owes us...Big Time! The English beat the snot out of the French in that war that i think was on the Plains of Champlane. Instead of taking over, they generously allowed 'Upper Canada' to keep their language and lifestyle. I have to wonder, if they were to know what is happening now, would they be so generous.
And another thing. How can the Bloq be considered a federal party? Nevermind that their primary goal is to break up Canada, but it doesn't represent any other part of Canada besides Quebec. It doesn't even try. They don't run a single candidate outside Quebec. How the hell can these guys form an effective party representing Canadians, let alone an objective opposition party?
The fact that these jokers got a place in the national debate is laughable. And the fact that they were in the debate and the Green party, who runs candidates across the country, is simply insane. Some may argue that the Green party is not credible because they haven't had an elected MP, but by excluding them from a national forum to get their message accross, it is simply being assured that they never will.
Another fact I found amusing was pointed out on the news immediately following the debate. Stephen Harper and the Conservatives plan to hold a free vote in the house of commons on the same-sex marriage debate (which I don't neccessarily support or even care about). Duceppe and the Bloq (along with nearly every other party) oppose this idea. Duceppes' reason is that a free vote was already held and that there is no reason to revisit the issue. But the Bloq wants to hold another referendum for Quebec seperation as soon as possible, an issue that has already been voted down twice.
I also liked how several times Paul Martin (and others) were asked point blank a question twice and they danced around it and didn't even come close to trying to answer it. Doesn't that put great faith in you for our candidates?
Just something for the no one who will read this to think about...

Happy Howl-o-ween...
Well, today we oficially enter the saddest part of the year, the period immediately following hal'o'ween. Sure all the candy is great, but what I'll really miss is the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episodes. Yes, there are the random episodes sporadically aired throughout the year, they are really concentrated at this time of year.
Don't get me started on stupid Fox and theit baffling decision to air the new Simpsons Halloween Special a week after the fact (especially since the World Series was over a week ago). All I know is that t
his new episode better be worth it (but judging by the last few halloween specials it'll be mediocre, at best).
On the plus side, GuildWars, the online role-playing game I've been playing for a few months now, had a nice promotion for the holiday. As you can see from the picture off to the side, i aquired a neat looking pumpkin helm for my character. Admittedly, the helmet does nothing for the character but look cool so I think that I'll be using my other helm for the most part, but I will hang on to this one for special occasions...
It's back to work for me tomorrow after three days off. Thank God! You'd think that I'd be thankful for having those days off, but i was bored out of my mind for most of it. I had rented an XBOX game to play during it, but The Incredibles ain't so incredible. Quite the opposite actually. Oh well, it's almost over...

What a weekend...
Well, here I am again on another Monday. What a wild and wacky weekend that was....
I cut out of work a little early on Friday. Got home and it was down to just me and Jeff here for the weekend. We ended up watching 'Die Another Day' after an arguement over whether or not the missile they fire to try and blow up the satellite is launched from an airplane or from the ground (for future reference, it was fired from a ship). Towards the end of that movie, we got to arguing over whether or not John Kleese (the new Q) was the Black Knight in Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail. Little did Jeff know that I had that movie, and so we watched that one too.
Whilst we watched the movies, we had a few drinks. All told, we each had 2 'beer' (see picture), a half of a bottle of wine, and some whiskey. In case you didn't guess it, we didn't catch most of the second movie, and we never did figure out if Kleese was the Black Knight. Oh well, task for another night...

Saturday i spent at work, which was mostly uneventful. Ken picked me up afterwards and we raced back to my place to watch the rest of the Senators game, which ended quite pleasently in an 8-0 victory over the hated Leafs. And if that wasn't sweet enough, Toronto's little midget enforcer Tie Domi got his nose broken in a fight with our new fighter Brian McGratton.
But, unfortunately, all glory was fleeting for the Sens as they got beat on Sunday by the Flyers. Sounded like a decent game (which unfortunately wasn't televised) but we took way too damn many penalties.
Sunday also saw the annual militaria show down at the Sportsplex. I added another airplane book to my growing library. If I had of had more cash, I likely would have added a bayonette or sword to my collection. One of the neatest things there was a WWII Nazi dagger set that belonged to someone called Adolph something...
I finally finished 'Halo 2' on Sunday too (yes, I know I'm 8 months behind on that). Damn those bastards at microsoft for leaving it off on a cliffhanger!!! How long am I going to have to wait for closure now??? And how much is it gonna cost me if it is released for the XBOX 360??? Damn those clever bastards....

I've created a blog.....Oooh, waffles.....
Well, I've been searching for something to fill some of my spare time with and what better way than writing down some of the totally random thoughts that are rattling around in my head. Now people that I don't know, from places I've never heard of, can be completely up-to-date on what is on my mind. Or not. Whatever...
Right now I'm rather disappointed that my Senators got their first loss of the season last night, to Carolina of all teams. There is a joke in there that the Sens are the latest Hurricane victims, but it may be that it's still to soon for that sort of thing.
Aside from that loss, I am VERY happy that hockey is back. I was so lost last year without it. I even find myself checking nhl.com several times a night to see what is going on in the league (see previous comment about spare time). I am quite pleased about how the Senators are playing so far this year and have every reason to believe they will challenge for the cup this year (and also that the hated Leafs will not).
Well, this seems long enough for an initial/test post...
Smell ya later...
